О вкладе ученых Санкт-Петербурга в создание и развитие технологии гироскопического ориентирования
Рассказывается об исследованиях в области гироскопического ориентирования и разработках приборов для ориентирования подземных маркшейдерских съемок, проводимых во Всесоюзном научно-исследовательском институте горной геомеханики и маркшейдерского дела (ВНИМИ).
Особое внимание уделено уникальным специалистам - разработчикам и создателям маркшейдерских гирокомпасов, заложившим значительный потенциал теоретических и практических знаний, который в будущем может обеспечить дальнейшее развитие по-прежнему актуальной технологии
гироскопического ориентирования.

A brief history is given on the research in the field of gyrocompassing and the development of instruments for undersurveying orientation. These works are conducted at the State Research Institute of Rock Mechanics and Mine Surveying (VNIMI). A particular attention is paid to the unique specialists being designers of the underground surveying gyrocompasses. The latter have provided for particular grounds in the field of both theoretical and practical knowledge which is to advance further development of the still being actual technology of gyrocompassing.
